Feeling Crafty

Busy, busy, busy, that’s what I’ve been lately. It’s the holiday craft fair season, and I’ve been printing up a passel o’ prints in preparation.

First up, this weekend, is the 2nd Annual Pacific Art League Craft Sale, in Palo Alto. It’s a juried show, which means (as Sarah-Hope says) no crocheted beer can carriers. It’s all classy stuff! There will be 14 artists showing and (hopefully) selling their work.

I’ll be selling prints, of course; matted, loose, framed, and small ones as greeting cards. Come on by and say hello if you can! Here are the details:

I usually try to buy one ‘thing’ to upgrade and improve my booth/tent before each such event. This time I got a banner with my name and the rabid squirrel print on it. It looks awesome! Though as someone pointed out, the mad squirrel might scare some visitors away. Don’t worry; he doesn’t really bite!

After Thanksgiving, I’ll be taking part in a four-weekend marathon craft sale in Scott’s Valley. Stay tuned for more information on that.

And here’s another holiday shopping idea for you: things with my prints on them! That’s right: you can have a t-shirt with the pilgrim bearing his burden, or a mug with one of my paintings on it. All you need to do is visit my Cafe Press shop. Who could resist a baby jumpsuit with a giant chicken on it?

To get $10 off your order, simply buy $50 or more worth of stuff (and it doesn’t all have to be from my shop, though it would be nice if it was!) and enter source code Friend10 at checkout. This offer is good on any purchases made between November 20 – 23.

I’ve ordered a lot of stuff from Cafe Press, and have been pleased with the quality of their items. And they’re pretty quick, too. Go check it out now!

West Coast Prints

Last night was the opening reception for West Coast Prints at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto. I was very pleased to have my linoleum block print, Baba Yaga, accepted in to the show. And a fine show it is!

Here is the title of the show in the window at the PAL.

Come on in, and join the crowd. You can see a couple of Tom Killion’s block prints on the wall.

Gianfranco Paolozzi plays the accordion for our entertainment. I love that he played Kiss of Fire, one of my all-time favorite songs.

Baba Yaga is part of a lovely grouping of black & white prints. Nice company! The sturgeon is a stunning linoleum block print.

West Coast Prints will be on display through November 27, 2010. The Pacific Art League is at 668 Ramona Street in Palo Alto. It really is an excellent show; go see it if you can!
