One week in

It’s difficult to write about a pilgrimage. Every day you get up and walk.  That’s it. Nothing happens, and yet everything happens.

The world slows down.  You see the flowers and the bees.  You hear the constant birdsong that happens in the Spanish countryside. The clouds sail by. You feel the warmth of the sun on your back. You hear the crunch of your boots on the gravel.

And the world slows down and opens up and presents itself to you with the possibility of finding your best self. You have the chance to give and receive kindness. You listen to stories and share your own. You have the opportunity for stillness.

It is a gift for which I am extremely grateful.

Perfectly said! I am longing to return!

While here in Norway, we felt like our theme song should be “Climb Every Mountain”, cause I think we did! Today was our last day on shore and we arrived back to the ship totally exhausted. Tomorrow cruising at sea to Copenhagen, where we debark and fly home. Great trip, but stick a fork in me- cause I’m done! I’ll be posting on Facebook once I’m home. Keep an eye out! Glad to see it looks like you’re having a swell time, despite what looks like record heat? The world is upside down I think! While up in Honningsvag, WAY north of the Arctic circle, we had temps in the high 60’s, unheard of for them! Down here in Bergen it was damn chilly and rainy. Tata for now!
